This is a rare Wales Official Classic Rugby League Shirt from the 2001/02 seasons

CONDITION - Shirt is in very good condition

CONDITION DETAILS - Colours are good. Dragon Print on front is excellent. The printed Classic logo has light wear. The other logos are stitched and are excellent. There is some light bobbling on the front and back. 

SIZE - Adults 44" - Large
Armpit to armpit 21 inches. Top of shoulder to bottom of shirt 31 inches. 

Please check the measurements as sizes from previous periods can be different to todays standard sizes

MADE BY - Classic of cotton and polyester. 

DETAIL - Shirt from when Wales played England in July 2001 and New Zealand in November 2002

HISTORY - Rugby league has a long history in Wales, dating back to the early 20th century. The Welsh rugby league team played their first international match against England in 1908, and went on to become a major force in the sport.

During the early years of rugby league in Wales, there was often conflict with the rugby union authorities, who saw rugby league as a threat to their own game. As a result, many Welsh rugby league players were banned from playing rugby union, which limited their opportunities to play at the highest levels of the sport.

Despite these challenges, Welsh rugby league continued to grow and develop, and the country produced many top players and teams over the years. The Welsh national team enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s, when they regularly competed in the Rugby League World Cup and other international competitions.

In recent years, the fortunes of Welsh rugby league have been more mixed, with the national team struggling to achieve the same level of success as in the past.
