This is a very rare Ireland Official Canterbury short sleeved Rugby Union Training Shirt from the 2000/01 season

CONDITION - Shirt is in good condition

CONDITION DETAILS - Colours are good on the main body. The collar has discolour and some wear. The Irish Permanent sponsor print has some cracking principally on the lines under the wording. Other logos are stitched and are excellent. There is bobbling on the front and back. 

SIZE -  Adults XL.

Armpit to armpit 25 inches/ 63cm Top of shoulder to bottom of the shirt 30 inches/ 76cm. 

Please check the measurements as sizes from previous periods can be different to todays standard sizes.

MADE BY - Canterbury of 55% cotton, 45% polyester.

This is the first shirt by Canterbury after they won the contract from Nike.

FEATURES - Training wording stitched under the crest. The crest is round whereas usually the shirts had a shield shaped crest

PLAYERS - included Henderson, Horgan, O'Gara, O'Driscoll.

DETAIL - Shirt believed to be player issue training shirt from 2000/01.

The usual shirt of this type was worn for the first time v Japan in November 2000, which the Irish won 78-9. They then played the first 2 games of the 2001 Six Nations in February 2001 in this style of shirt v Italy and France. Due to the foot and mouth outbreak the remaining games were played later in the year in a slightly different shirt with white rings on the sleeves

Shirt very rare as only worn in 4 games, Japan and South Africa 2000 and the 2 Six Nations games above
