CONDITION DETAILS - Colours are good with slight fade to the main body. The collar has discolour. The stitched crest is excellent

Armpit to armpit 23 inches. Top of shoulder to bottom of the shirt 30 inches.

HISTORY - In 1871, the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) was founded, making it the second oldest rugby union in the world after the Rugby Football Union in England. Scotland played its first international rugby match against England in 1871, which ended in a draw. The first Scottish victory came two years later in 1873 when they defeated England at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh.

In the early years of international rugby, Scotland was one of the dominant teams, winning the Home Nations Championship (now known as the Six Nations) 14 times between 1883 and 1999. They also won the Grand Slam (winning all five matches in the championship) on five occasions.

One of the most memorable moments in Scottish rugby history came in 1990 when Scotland won the Grand Slam by defeating England at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The game is remembered for a try scored by Gavin Hastings, one of the greatest Scottish rugby players of all time.

In recent years, Scotland has remained a competitive team in international rugby, regularly finishing in the top half of the Six Nations standings and reaching the quarterfinals of the Rugby World Cup three times (1991, 1995, and 2019).

Overall, Scottish rugby has a rich history and has produced many great players over the years, including Hastings, Finlay Calder, Jim Telfer, and more recently, Stuart Hogg and Finn Russell.
