This is an England Official Cotton Traders long sleeved Rugby Union Away Shirt from the 1991/93 seasons

CONDITION - Shirt is in good condition

CONDITION DETAILS - Colours are good. The crest is stitched and is excellent. There is light wear to the collar and some bobbling on the front and back. There is pen marking on Cotton Traders neck label.  

SIZE - Adults Size Large
Armpit to armpit 22 inches. Top of shoulder to bottom of shirt 29 inches.

Please check the measurements as sizes from previous periods can be different to todays standard sizes

PLAYER ISSUE FEATURES - No Cotton Traders logo on front right or on sleeves.

DETAIL - Originally brought out in 1991 alongside the '91 World Cup shirt, this is a very rare away shirt. This style of shirt was used in the 1993 World Sevens Tournament in the semi final versus Fiji. It is not known if it was used in any other game.

England won this game 21-7 with two tries from Harriman and one from Dallaglio. They then went on to win the Final against Australia

The 1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens was held at Murrayfield, Edinburgh Scotland in April 1993. This tournament was the inaugural Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament. The IRB invited the established rugby union nations but also were keen to involve emerging nations in the event, recognising the fact that Sevens was providing the bridge between the developed rugby nations and those whose rugby union traditions were less well established.

The IRB situated the tournament in the spiritual home nation of rugby sevens, Scotland. The games were played at the home of Scottish rugby, Murrayfield

England defeated Australia 21–17 to become the first team to win the Melrose Cup.
