This is a British and Irish Lions Official Canterbury Rugby Union Shirt inspired by the birth of the Lions and their first official Tour in 1888.

CONDITION - Shirt is in excellent condition

CONDITION DETAILS - Colours are good. The logos are stitched and are excellent

SIZE -  Adults Medium.

Armpit to armpit 21 inches/ 53cm. Top of shoulder to bottom of shirt 29 inches/ 73cm.

MADE BY - Canterbury of 100% cotton

FEATURES  - Material number 4 stitched on back. Diamond stitching across the upper body and shoulders with elasticated finish to the cuffs. Original Lions crest stitched on the chest. 

DETAIL - The 1888 tour was organised by three professional English cricketers,James Lillywhite, Alfred Shaw and Athur Shrewsbury but they could not obtain patronage from the RFU who refused to patronise by the tour, though the RFU was happy for the tour to go ahead, provided there was no infringement of the rules of amateurism. The team was led by Englands Robert L Seddon and took in 35 games, though no test matches against international opposition. Of the games played the tourists won twenty seven, drew six and lost two matches.
